Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But SSG doesn't sweat it too much since a few months ago the food would have gone straight to the trash without so much as a second thought.
This week, one of SSG's "hmm ... let's see how this goes" recipes actually worked. She took a few wilted carrots from her vegetable crisper, tossed them with a teaspoon of butter and a teaspoon of olive oil, drizzled a bit of honey over everything then sprinkled in a big pinch of cardamom and salt before chucking the whole thing in the oven for about 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
Let SSG just say, "big bag of carrots" is the first thing written on her list of things to buy this weekend.
And she's probably going to have the best vision ever.

Ummmm, yeah! I love some warm and buttery roasted carrots.
I read this at work in my reader (which doesn't let you comment) and I've been trying to remember what cardamom tastes like all day. I can recall that it has another name when in one form...but the taste just won't come to me. I may have to buy some just to try this. I love carrots...sounds great.
That does sound tasty. I will have to buy a bag of carrots the next trip to the store.
I love cooked carrots almost as much as I love raw ones! A lot!
